People say that talking about music is like dancing about architecture. But that criticism doesn't apply to composers who write music about paintings. In this retrospective we discover the many portraits of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, by listening to different movements by each of these conductors: Rafael Kubelík, Fritz Reiner, Seiji Ozawa, Carlo Maria Giulini, Neeme Järvi, and Sir Georg Solti. Hear a whole program of music written about the visual arts.

人々は音楽は建築に関するダンスと似ていると言いいます。しかし、絵画に関する音楽を書いた作曲家には当てはまらないという批判があります。この回顧において我々はムソルグスキーの展覧会の絵の中に、以下のそれぞれの指揮者によるそれぞれ異なる動機を聞くことにより多くの肖像を見いだすことができます。ラファエル・クーベリック、フリッツ・ライナー、小澤征爾、カルロ・マリア・ジュリーニ、ニーム・ジャルヴィ、ゲオルグ・ショルティ。
